YouTube, I-Tube, Everybody-Tubes
August 30th, 2006 by Sterling Hager
I don’t have much time these days to enjoy much procrastination, but when I do, I've been spending some time dawdling around on YouTube. If you haven't checked it out at this point, feel free to crawl out from under the rock at any time – the site has rapidly become one of the most popular websites on the planet. Founded in February, 2005 by three employees of PayPal, YouTube has enjoyed a stratospheric climb in popularity and is currently ranked #10 according to Alexa.
What about the competition? Well, YouTube spits on the competition. . . In the virtual sense, of course. But when you take into account the fact that this site has only been around for 18 months, it’s pretty darn amazing that this website has not only become one of the most popular spots on the internet, but a revolutionary staple-mark of contemporary society.
