Ode to Corporate Status Quo
June 8th, 2007 by Sterling Hager
I don’t care what the experts say
We’re entitled to a lack of transparency.
Keeping our customers and the truth at bay
Is a big part of our valued conspiracy.
We’re a corporation, not a sewing bee.
Dialogue, community, conversation and authenticity?
Corporate candor and communications simplicity?
That will ruin our competitive advantage of duplicity.
It must not be encouraged or allowed to occur,
Do not with new media fanatics concur.
What’s that you say, there’s a blogger on the phone?
Tell ‘em I’m out, and adopt a stern tone,
Tell ‘em whatever may be the issue
Concerns us not and here’s a tissue.
It’s just one unhappy customer is all
Voiceless, thank goodness, powerless and small.
And get me PR on the line
I want a release about how sublime
Are the results of our own customer satisfaction poll.
Propaganda, remember, is always and ever, our goal.
