Yes, Women Blog, too!
September 17th, 2007 by Sterling Hager
In Sunday's Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, a brief column by promotional marketing professional Donna DeClemente details her entry into social media in general and blogging specifically. It chronicles her learning experience with the help of many other women, professional and otherwise, who have found their voice in the metasphere.
I highly recommend this item for any and all women thinking about following in Ms. DeClemente's footsteps. But I also recommended it for everyone else, too, because it includes a few, simply-stated sentences about the power and implications of social media. For example:
Consumers expect a steady supply of fresh content on the Internet, as well as the ability to help create some of that content… Businesses today need research based on consumer behaviors that are gathered and reported quickly. Social networks are quickly becoming the best source for this.
And this quote from Yvonne Divita, President of Windsor Media who said, "…Businesses that learn to participate will discover a world of opportunity at their fingertips."
